The lodge is located amongst gardens and native bush, on a private peninsula overlooking Lake Tarawera. Easy lake access allows exploration of surrounding waters with secluded private bays, deep water swimming and shoreline trails through native bush to explore on foot. A number of scenic public reserves and walking trails are a short drive from the lodge.

Kayaks & Motorized Dinghies

From the lodge’s private jetty you have a choice of boating options including motorised dinghies and kayaks. Paddle the protected waters of the Otumutu Lagoon, home to ancient Maori sites. See Black Swans gliding by in the protected waters as well as rare native bird life.​ Use of lodge dinghies, kayaks and safety equipment is included in your stay.
