Solitaire Lodge is located on a private, secluded peninsular overlooking the historic and beautiful Lake Tarawera in New Zealand’s North Island. The Lodge is approximately 20minutes drive from Rotorua, 3hours drive from Auckland and 1.5hours drive from Taupo. For those looking to spend more time unwinding and less time travelling, private helicopter transfers not only provide faster journeys, but also give the opportunity to view Rotorua’s extraordinary landscape, a mixture of lush fields, beautiful lakes, spectacular geysers and boiling mudpools.
Private helicopter transfers are available from the helipad at Solitaire Lodge direct to airports, cities and a number of other New Zealand Luxury Lodges. Arrangements for use of Lodge facilities including the private helipad and jetty need to be pre-arranged with the Lodge management. Normal hours of operation for all excursions, arrivals and departures are from 9am-5pm.

Approximately one hours flights from Auckland’s International airport to Solitaire Lodge’s private helipad. As you approach Lake Tarawera, the Helicopter will fly over spectacular Mt. Tarawera and the Blue and Green Lakes before landing at Solitaire Lodge.
Rotorua Airport — approx 10mins
